PICED utilizes SkillsBank 5, an educational tutorial program to provide the academic tools necessary to build and improve basic skills in Reading, Language, Basic Mathematics, Intermediate Mathematics, Science, Writing, and Informational Skills. Thinking Skills lessons are woven throughout the program making SkillsBank5 a powerful resource for teaching students to apply concepts, think critically and discover creative solutions to real life problems. The program’s learning objectives are aligned to state and national standards.
With its diagnostic approach and dynamic instructional program, SkillsBank5 meets the needs of students at varying learning levels. The flexible management system allows teachers and tutors to easily assess progress and customize lessons to individual student needs.
Achievement Technologies Assignment and Tracking System provide a powerful tool for monitoring the computer activities of SkillsBank5.
- Manages multiple educational products simultaneously, giving students and teachers quicker and easier access to SkillsBank5 and other products
- Tests student’s skills, providing both pretests and posttests to make initial assessments and gauge student progress
- Makes assignments, allowing teachers to select from a standard set of assignments or to tailor assignments themselves
- Monitor student scores and completion of activities
- Produces reports for individual students and entire classes
- Provides online documentation, as well as printable activity sheets which extend the computer lessons to classroom or homework activities.
PICED utilizes SkillsBank5 tutorials for students to identify levels of understanding in each subject area. The purposes of the pre and post tests are to assess the skill level and proficiency in each subject area. PICED is currently in the process of integrating the lessons within the SkillsBank program into the curriculum for the purposes measuring and tracking student’s progress.
