I will be installing Ubuntu with the Live CD that I have. I really don’t have a need for Windows at this point. Yes not even a dual boot option. I have read stories of a few people getting the Windows license refund from Dell but nothing from HP. I am not sure on what to ship back. Since my friend also bought a HP desktop computer came to his house without a CD. He needed Windows due to his working from home but I don’t.

I do know you can’t turn on the computer. But without the CD in this case a recovery CD not sure what I need to return to HP in order to receive the refund.

What I would like to do with the refund if I am able to get it is to donate it to some charity. Not sure which one though. So many good ones to choose from.

Thats a good question..Last year i was in best buy and wanted to purchase one of their computers without windows on it for the purpose of installing ubuntu… they never heard of anything like that and were unwilling to give me a refund for the overpriced software :/
