Hi PICED. I’m in 8th grade and already worried about high school and coIlege. It too early for me to start thinking about SATs and apllying to colleges? I was wondering what I should be doing now that will be helpful when I get to high school.

READ FIRST! How to Post or Reply in the PICED Forums!

Wanna be startin’ sumthin? Or wanna be “replyin” to something? (Sorry for the poor Michael Jackson reference.)

In order to participate (you can read Forum topics as a “Guest” all you want), to post new topics and reply to existing ones, we ask only one thing: that you register. Here’s how to register in a nutshell.

At the top of the screen, above the header graphic, you should see text that says “Welcome guest” along with links “login, register, member list.”

Hit that register link, and follow the directions on the next screen accordingly.

Once you “submit” the registration, you’ll be sent an email with directions on how to activate your membership. Follow the link/url they give you in the email and your registration should then be confirmed.

To POST an entry after you’ve registered, simply go to the PICED Forums page, click on the Forum category you would like to post in or read. Once there, you will see a list of recent forum topics. You can click on the link to any of the topics to “reply,” or you can start a new topic. In the upper right, you’ll see a white-ish button that says “New topic.” Simply click that, and you can start a new thread.

These Forums are all about building community by offering students, parents, and PICED alumni a virtual meeting place where they can feel welcome, exchange ideas, and access the collective knowledge of the greater PICED family.

Connect with those you know, meet new friends, reconnect with those whom you’ve perhaps lost touch, ask questions and receive answers (hopefully, most of them good ones, anyway .

In here, it’s all about positive conversations and exchanges not only about all things college-related in general (how to get into college and how to succeed in college, etc.) but really about anything and everything that’s on your mind.

Okay, not “anything and everything,” but mostly—as long as its positive.
